Fantasy NASCAR Rankings 2026: Preseason Driver Tiers & Value Picks

2026 Fantasy NASCAR Tier 1: The Elite

These are the drivers you build your fantasy roster around — Kyle Larson, William Byron, Chase Elliott, Ryan Blaney, and Denny Hamlin. They consistently compete for wins and rack up stage points every single week.

Larson enters 2026 as the reigning two-time champion and the undisputed No. 1 overall pick. Byron is coming off back-to-back Daytona 500 wins. Elliott brings top-5 upside at nearly every track type. Blaney is the most consistent points accumulator at Penske. Hamlin is 40 years old and still one of the best at JGR.

Tier 2: Consistent Contenders

Tyler Reddick is the most dangerous Tier 2 driver — a three-peat championship hunter who will contend for wins weekly. Christopher Bell is the best pure racer at JGR. Joey Logano brings championship-level experience. Ross Chastain is your go-to play at road courses and superspeedways. Chris Buescher is a weekly top-15 lock. Austin Cindric provides solid value with upside at short tracks.

Tier 3: Upside Plays & Track Specialists

Chase Briscoe thrives on short tracks and dirt with JGR equipment. Ty Gibbs has elite raw speed and variance. Alex Bowman is a steady intermediate track performer. Bubba Wallace is underrated as a value play at superspeedways. Daniel Suarez moved to Spire this season but still has sneaky-good ceiling at road courses.

Track specialist note: Target Briscoe at Bristol, Martinsville, and the dirt. Target Chastain at COTA and Watkins Glen. Target Wallace at Daytona and Talladega.

Tier 4: Deep Sleepers & Value Mines

At superspeedways, pack racing is the great equalizer. Kyle Busch is still a former two-time Cup champion capable of stealing a win. Noah Gragson and Zane Smith are minimum-salary plays with legitimate top-5 upside. Ryan Preece just won the 2026 Cook Out Clash and showed he can capitalize when chaos strikes.

Rookies to Watch

The most fantasy-relevant true rookie in 2026 is Connor Zilisch (#88, Trackhouse Racing). The 18-year-old phenom replaced Daniel Suarez at Trackhouse and has Red Bull sponsorship. Trackhouse is one of the top-four organizations in the sport, which means Zilisch has real equipment.

Rookie strategy: In season-long leagues, stash Zilisch as a late-round flier. In DFS, he's a road course GPP weapon.
